Diana and I woke to a drizzly day in Newport. After we had polished all the brass on the boat for the 4th time, we just had to get out of there. Drizzle or not, after a bit of excitement pulling up the anchor and almost chopping our neighbors anchor line with our propeller, we headed out and down the coast for Dana. ( Long story short, I need to learn patience and teamwork.) Outside the harbor The seas were high and riotous and the winds were strong. We were making very good time , over 6 knots, but it was pretty strong stuff and after a few minutes out of the harbor we decided to shorten (reef) both sails. This immediately gave us much easier control over the boat and we enjoyed a very nice sail and in a few hours we were pulling into Dana. Diana was at the helm the whole time and she did a great job. I drove her to the airport the next morning and she jetted back to Salt Lake. We had had a great time together and I was sorry to see her leave.

I decided to order a new toilet for the boat. It came the next day, and is essentially an exact upgraded version of the old one. I installed it today and after 3 trips to the hardware store, it works perfectly. Fingers crossed. No more exploding toilets.
